Pennsylvania step-back cupboard in old paint

This attractive cupboard in old brown paint came to us from Pennsylvania. It appears to have begun its life in the early 19th century, when it was taller by one shelf. We believe that at some time in the first half of the 20th century it was shortened. The exterior bears evidence of several layers paint, but it now has an attractive natural finish with good color. The interior has never been painted. Nice period storage and display at an affordable price.
