An elaborately decorated antique rosewood armchair

From an area home, this chair has intricately shaped back, arms and arm supports. The back bears a carved and pierced central splat depicting two male figures, each brandishing an object and appearing to be dancing on a tiled floor. The pierced work above and below this central scene is filled foliage. The plank seat is set into a mitered frame, and each of the four feet terminates in a decorative scroll. The chair is finished with a red pigment, while the carved sections are polychromed.
