Pair of Georgian amethyst paste earrings

These amethyst paste earrings are timeless. They were created in England in the Georgian period and are in very good condition. The flat-cut paste stones are well matched, measure approximately 9 mm square, and have clean foils in their closed-back settings. The original ear wires are crafted in gold and the balance of the mountings are metal. The wires pass through the back of the ears and close into an opening in the verso of the mounting. Measuring 15 mm top to bottom (5/8"), these earrings are a very good size and not heavy.
