A Trip to the Franz Hals Museum in Haarlem

Holland's numerous outstanding museums are probably the most compelling reasons for a visit to the Netherlands. One of our favorites, and surely one of the most charming and intimate of them is the Franz Hals Museum in Haarlem. Last October, we took the train to Haarlem for a return visit to this wonderful monument to Dutch art and culture.

We left our apartment in Amsterdam near the Herengracht early on an overcast Friday morning . . .

. . . and walked to Central Station, a few blocks away.

At the station we purchased two tickets for the 30-minute train trip, and in a few minutes were moving at high speed towards Haarlem.
