Photo Shoot in New York

Our friend Kathryn Precourt, who produces -- among other things -- Country Home Magazine's annual Top 10 Collectibles feature, invited us to participate in this year's issue -- the item: the six-board blanket box. As we've bought and sold many, the invitation seemed a perfect fit. We contacted two customers and asked if we could borrow from their collections for the shoot. They received our request favorably. Their contributions are pictured above.

The shoot was scheduled for noon on Tuesday, February 27th. We woke to a messy light snowfall, but left on schedule for the three-hour drive to the city.

Travel was smooth, and we reached New York's West side well before noon.

We arrived at the studio on West 30th Street with more than an hour to spare.

Photographer Quentin Bacon and Country Home's Photo Design Editor Jessica Thomas confer, while Kathryn moves a chest into position.

Associate Editor Rachel DeSchepper (left), Stylist Marina Malchin (right) and her assistant (center) create an illusion for the camera.

Almost ready.

Waiting for Jan and John to finish changing our clothes.

After the shoot -- Jan and Kathryn review the photos.

The result of this group effort is scheduled to appear in the August issue of Country Home Magazine. We can hardly wait.

In the meantime, you might wish to visit the Country Home website.
