Jan and John Maggs Antiques
NEWSLETTER - February 15, 2011
|
|
Last weekend we held our first-ever art opening, featuring a
significant group of newly-acquired paintings by Dennis Sheehan.
Since the show was conceived as an escape from the winter
doldrums, we called it "CLIMBING
THE WALLS". We gave the shop a totally new look
and filled it with paintings by Dennis and several others,
prints, Chinese furniture, and dozens of decorative pieces. The
reaction of attendees suggests that our efforts were
worthwhile.
In this newsletter we highlight the show and list nearly 50
objects that were still available when we closed our doors on
Sunday evening. If you weren't able to come, we think you might
enjoy a digital retrospective as well as a look at the unclaimed
pieces. And we think you might find quite a few surprises. We
hope you'll have a look.
CLIMBING THE WALLS will remain in place through March.
Call or e-mail to arrange a visit. |

This Month's New Stock
Listings

CLIMBING THE WALLS was a success, but since we began with
such a wealth of new material, there's still plenty left. Click
on the image above for thumbnails of more than ten paintings by
Dennis Sheehan as well as additional paintings and prints by
others. You'll also find several pieces of Chinese country
furniture, interesting lighting pieces and other smalls.
Although the jewelry case was not seen during the show, we're
listing a half dozen pieces of early jewelry as well.
