A small, veneered traveling secretary

A lovely portable writing desk with a pleasing and functional interior with five drawers, each fitted with a small brass knob, and three small cubbyholes. The hinged slanting lid, with herringbone inlay inside and out, swings down and is supported by two lopers, each with a brass knob at its end, creating a useful writing surface. A larger drawer, fitted with pulls and a lock, occupies the bottom of the secretary, which rests on attractive pad feet. All exterior and interior surfaces are handsomely veneered, with herringbone inlay on the lid.
