These grand Georgian earrings are a rich amethyst color, and the stones are in lovely condition - they make quite a statement. The amethyst pastes are eight-point starburst faceted with a table (6mm), and measure 16mm in diameter . They are foiled and closed-back set in silver, having long gold shepherd’s crook earwires, which go in from the front of the ear. They measure 1” overall from top to bottom of the earwire. Amazing earrings! English or French, early 1800’s.
