Luscious 'Queen Anne'* bracelet, circa 1760, in the desirable shade of emerald green. Eleven deep-dished gilt metal sawtooth or dogtooth settings, typical of this era, enclose rose-cut faceted emerald pastes, each double linked to each other, set over emerald foils. The bracelet measures 8” in length, has a hook and loop clasp and a guard chain. This bracelet is a neat and wearable size, the stones, measuring 2/3 “ by just over ½”. Immaculate condition. Very hard to find these pieces now.

*Queen Anne reigned from 1702 – 1714, the style of jewelry created after her passing was noted as ‘Queen Anne’ (ca. 1750). [As M.D.S. Lewis points out in ‘Antique Paste Jewellery’ : this style of jewelry took Paris by storm around 1730 to 1740. It is virtually certain that no such pieces existed in France or England before that date.]
