Dazzling Georgian, English silver giardinetti (little garden) earrings, set with dozens of rose-cut iron pyrite stones (two are lost). Each of the stones is closed-back set in silver, just as rose-cut diamonds were. The design features a large central, multi-petaled flower surrounded by stemmed leaves. Indeed, it sparkles like rose-cut diamonds! The central mounting measures 1 ⅛” top to bottom, and ¾” at the widest point. Silver shepherd’s crook earwires go into the front of the ear. The silver frames at the verso bear tiny touch marks. The earrings are English, ca 1835.
