A glorious gold and silver ring, created in the form of a crowned flaming, elongated heart, or kite. The large heart-shaped, foiled, rose-cut diamond (.80+ct) is closed-back bezel-set in rub-over silver, crimped at 6 points. The crowned heart is mounted on a gold bifurcated and engraved shank, tapering to an undecorated center back. Surmounting the heart is a tri-part silver crown in an undulating form, closed-back set with five old mine cut diamonds. There are two rose-cut diamonds (3mm) closed-back set in gold and silver at the shoulders. The ring has a very slight rounded back, or ‘belly’ that is characteristic of this era. The ring is currently a size 6 ½, the mounted heart /kite measures 9mm in length. Approximately 6 mm at the widest part, the mounting is 15 mm high overall. This glorious ring is English, and dates to the late 1700’s.
